Replaceable
Terminal Ducted Modules
Our ceiling replaceable TDM features robust, leak-free construction,
replaceable HEPA and ULPA filters, and rapid serviceability. It is an
innovative, value-added version of the traditional ducted-supply HEPA/ULPA
filter housing. This innovation epitomizes the ultimate in protection
against bypass leakage. Constructed of high-strength anodized extruded
aluminum and stainless steel components, the unit is ideal for a wide
range of cleanroom and "clean-space" applications.
TDMs are available in three standard sizes for installation in
inverted T-bar grid systems. The unit eliminates problems associated
with many competitive models (i.e., includes a downstream filter seal
to eliminate dead space, extruded aluminum construction to eliminate
the warping and contamination often caused by welding, heavy-duty
butterfly damper control to prevent damper "lock-up", and access to
unit controls through the perforated grille greatly minimizing the
potential for damage during filter replacement and validation).
The unit accommodates a wide range of HEPA and ULPA filters. The
filter product line features advanced mini-pleat construction
providing large media surface area and optimal media flow
characteristics for low pressure drop and extended service life. |

Applications
The Ceiling Replaceable TDM is ideal for applications requiring
frequent filter performance evaluations and routine maintenance
procedures found in pharmaceutical and biotechnology cleanrooms. Fluid
seal technology allows for easy filter removal and replacement without
the worry of bypass leakage. Additionally, since all access ports and
controls can be operated without removal of the perforated aluminum
grille, the potential for filter damage by maintenance or validation
personnel is virtually eliminated.
All TDMs are manufactured and tested under
"clean" conditions, making them ideal for critical cleanroom
applications.
Features and
Advantages
- Rugged, leak-free construction
resulting from the use of extruded aluminum profiles (0.110" thick
walls). Extruded anodized aluminum insures high strength while
minimizing module weight for ease of installation.
- Fluid seal technology that
eliminates the potential for bypass leakage common to gasket seal
units (a soft yet rugged elastomeric gel provides a tight seal while
allowing easy filter insertion and removal from the filter housing.
The material exhibits self-healing and low out-gassing properties).
- Heavy-duty butterfly damper and
damper control provides continuous adjustment under high airflow
conditions. A fixed air distribution disc insures uniform airflow
over the entire filter surface. Each standard housing features a 10"
or 12" round duct connection.
- Access to DOP (or alternate aerosol)
injection system, static pressure measurement ports, and damper
control mechanism without removing the protective face grille.
- Downstream filter seal eliminating
the dead space common to many competitive models.
Available Options:
- Maximum effective filter face area
for low pressure drop and uniform airflow distribution (~7.5%
greater filter face area than competitive models).
- Flush-mounted 16 gauge (0.051")
perforated anodized aluminum grille (40% open area) that affords
protection and uniform air distribution.
- Each module is individually leak
tested prior to shipment.
- Modules can be used in the
horizontal or vertical position. Filter spacers may be required for
vertical position
- Seismic restraint tabs are standard.
A flush mounted 18-gauge (0.048") Type 304 stainless steel grille
can be supplied upon request. The grille has 40% open area for low
resistance and uniform air flow.
- Aluminum alloy mounting pads are
available for alternate suspension / mounting methods. The pads are
mounted flat on the top inside corners of the housing.
- A stainless steel perimeter trim is
available for units mounted in plaster / gypsum wallboard. The trim
provides for a clean, finished appearance.
- The TDM can be purchased with an
optional white epoxy powder-coat paint finish.
- An advanced aerosol distribution
system is available to allow for consistent filter leak testing in
accordance with the Institute of Environmental Sciences
IES-RP-CG-001-86 (HEPA Filters). The connection is a 3/8"- diameter
riser extension and plug.
- Two-inch thick fiberglass insulation
with an aluminum-foil backing is available for applications
requiring protection against condensation and/or heat loss.
Insulation covers only the top of the housing unless otherwise
specified by the customer.
- A side inlet housing is available
upon request. Overall module height is increased to 24".
At Right:
- Aerosol injection ring system
and fixed air distribution disc
- Aerosol injection ring inlet
- Damper control mechanism and
static pressure port
